opencourseware

I have never use any opencourseware before, so this is my first time using it. I think it’s very interesting and convenient because you don’t need to pay any money and you can learn a lot of fun courses online. There’s a course called: Chinese language- learn basic Chinese. It says that Chinese is now the most commonly spoken language in the world. And it describes the fun process of how foreigners learn Chinese. I do like this website that will certainly broaden my horizon and give me a lot of new experience.

Matt Cutts: Try something new for 30 days

When you keep the same daily life for a long time, you might want to try something new. There is always something we've wanted to do, but just haven't, then why not give it a try? Give yourself a chance to be want you desire to be. Life is short, you should spend time on the thing you like. It may be diffidult to leave from your comfort zone. But, who knows? Maybe you're hundred times happier than you were.

# 5. Choose what you love

Choose what you love, and love what you choose. Thais is the life what people always hope to live.

When I was little, I found that I was interested in music very much. I was appreciate to those musicians who wrote such beautiful melodies. So, I started to learn the piano when I was six. Though it was a hard time, I practiced the piano every day, dreaming about being a famous musician one day. Although I chose to major in English at the end, music is still my best friend. I love to play the piano, and the beautiful sound it make really makes me relax.

# 4. Steve Job

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everythinug else is secondary.

I do like this learning resource because it makes clear explanations of the vocabularies, it also has accurate pronounciations. And, its speed is not too fast so you can hear the conversation clearly. I think it's a good way to practice our listening skills.

1.      Swap: Give (one thing) and receive something else in exchange.

Ex: Swap one of your sandwiches for a cheese and pickle?

2.      Disruption: Disturbance or problems which interrupt an event, activity, or process, the scheme was planned to minimize disruption.

Ex: There had been no delays or disruptions to flights

3.      Psychological: Relating to psychology.

Ex: Psychological research

4.      Preferable: More desirable or suitable.

Ex: lower interest rates were preferable to higher ones

5.      Reinforce: Strengthen or support (an object or substance), especially with additional material.

Ex: The helmet has been reinforced with a double layer of cork.

I like the way the Oxford Dictionary shows. It gives clear and definite explanations of words. The example sentences it provide also let people know more about words they don’t know. It really help people learn new words effectively.

#1. self introduction

Hello everyone, I’m Tiffany. I’m 19 years old and I come from Taipei. I’m now studying at Taipei University of Business and major in English. I’m always working hard for all my courses and now I’m studying Japanese as my second language. I’m outgoing and lively when I l stay with people. I have had a lot of travel experiences with my families since I was young. These experiences let me know more about different cultures and also broaden my horizon. I believe these characteristics will help me a lot in my future career. In my leisure time, I like to travel and read books. I think reading may be my second teacher because I can learn many new things from reading.
